Amanda, and her team at Designworx, were critical to the successful, substantial upgrade of our 1920s bungalow. With both of us working full-time, we wanted someone to understand what we were after in terms of the “look and feel” of the design, to provide us with options for the design, styling and the specific materials/furniture etc to fit, and to help project manage the renovation.
Amanda quickly grasped the look we were after and always gave us options, (without too many to choose from, which was good) in terms of the style and design. We didn’t have to spend too much time hunting around shops and stores to find or decide what we wanted. We simply popped into the studio, or Amanda came to us, to see what she had found for us. This saved us a huge amount of time and stress. Amanda also worked in with our builder and tradespeople to make sure all the dots were lined up and the project kept on track.
She also proactively followed up on the many tidy up issues near the end of the project which needed to be sorted and might otherwise have dragged on unfinished. This reflected the approach from Designworx from the beginning to the end of the project, which was thorough, efficient, engaging, proactive and professional. Thank you Designworx.

It gives me great pleasure to be able to write this reference for Amanda Neill, who is the principal of Amanda Neill Designs.
Recently myself and Vikki moved into our new house which is located on a 5 acre block just on the outskirts of Howick in Whitford. Amanda has acted as our advisor and consultant in all areas of colour selection, interior design, furnishings, curtains and even made recommendations on the selection of our outdoor furniture. When we first contemplated building this house we were always nervous and slightly fearful of getting the right look and then getting the interior to have the flow throughout the house. We should not have worried as from our very first meeting with Amanda our fears were allayed. Amanda spent time understanding our tastes, took photos of our art and existing furniture , visited the proposed building site and took into account the vision we had for the house. In all respects this has been wonderfully achieved.
At all times Amanda has acted in a very professional manner, determined enough to be confident in her recommendations and opinions but at the same time allowing us to also have an input which is a vital mix during a project of this nature. Her experience and network of contacts is truly superb and nothing was left to chance in her drive to achieve the best possible result for us, it was always a pleasure to discuss issues on the phone , by e-mail or in person.
We have no hesitation in recommending Amanda to anyone who is contemplation a renovation or a new dwelling and would invite anyone who would like to view her work to visit our house at the above address. Amanda has been a pleasure to be associated with.

We awarded the contract to re-decorate our home to Amanda Neill Designs in November 2005. The brief was large and called for a total refurbishment of our two storey cliff top home.
Amanda listened carefully to our needs and was mindful of the functional role of each room in our house. She tied her design to existing furniture and introduced new pieces so the whole concept became seamless.
Her project management was faultless. She was mindful of our budget limits and always presented us with financial options to consider when making choices. Product arrived on schedule and was personally checked by Amanda on site to confirm both quality and workmanship.
You feel the magic of the richness and diversity of textures and colours within our home as soon as you open the front door. The boundaries between the inside and outside blur as the colours of the sea and sky become part of the interior. Links exist between the rooms with her subtle connection of pattern, texture, and colour.
Thank you Amanda for creating for us a home whose interior design is both elegant and enduring.

I often thought I must send you this e-mail and now I’m actually doing it. Everytime I go into my room I thank God for creating such a clever Amanda who could in turn create such a haven for me to enjoy.
Everyone loves it, and I feel so proud of what you accomplished. In fact I don’t go upstairs to watch TV in the evening. I go to bed in my beautiful room, watch there or read and then sleep peacefully.
So thank you and Debbie for all the help and happiness you gave me. I know your other clients will probably feel the same so all power to you and hope you are not too busy to enjoy your own lives.
Thank you for helping me to transform my very tired and dated 70’s two bedroom unit into a modern ‘apartment’. The external colour scheme makes a formally drab ‘brick & tile’ unit look quite striking from the street. The stylish modern interior, which most people agree is ‘simply stunning’, is much more than what I had thought possible. My brief as I remember it was for something modern and stylish, but not minimalistic. That is what has been created with a definite air of class and sophistication that would surely be appreciated in Europe, let alone Remuera.
There are a number of features which contribute to making this refurbishment special but the things that are most admired by our visitors are the imported Swedish white oak overlay flooring, internal doors (so refreshingly different), bar stools, curtains and feature tiles to the guest bathroom. As most of our friends have seen the dining room and lounge furniture slowly evolve has I have acquired the various items in fits and starts over the last year or so they have not had the full impact all at once, but I think anyone seeing the living area furniture for the first time would be suitably impressed. Apart from looking gorgeous every thing is very functional and comfortable.
Apart from your obvious talent as an interior designer, through this entire process I have always found you and your staff to be professional and would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone wanting something exclusive and special.

I was asked to appraise a property in coastal Beachhaven in January 2010.
I asked the owners to tell me about the history of the property. They had owned the home for over 20yrs. They had tried to sell the property 9mths ago with a different company, after 3mths of marketing the only offer that was received was $545,000, disappointed with the outcome the vendor withdrew the property from the market and engaged the services of Interior Designer Amanda Neill from Designworx in Devonport, for advice on how to improve the property. The vendor had followed the advice given and began to work toward completing things.
Bathrooms and kitchen remained untouched, it was decided between myself and the vendor that they would not invest any further with window dressings, the home was staged and a fresh sophisticated property was taken to market. Within the first 2 weeks of marketing we received an offer of $665,000. $120,000 more than the previous offer.
It is without doubt that the input of Amanda completely changed this dated property into a warm modern welcoming home, the marketing drew plenty of buyer interest and a premium price was achieved. The offer was accepted, a happy vendor moved on and a happy purchaser moved in.
This is a real demonstration of what can be achieved. If you want to save money then do nothing, if you want to make money then seek the advice of the experts.

To Whom It May Concern, I am pleased to recommend Amanda Neill Designworx for advice and drawings for any kitchen re-build you may be contemplating. I went through this process with Amanda and her Team in the last Quarter of 2014 and found the results to be quite spectacular, particularly with regard to the use of colour and space, in enhancing the platform that I had provided. Amanda is particularly gifted in choosing colours and major features to make a total concept work. Recommendations on the introduction of some new furniture in the living and other areas surrounding the kitchen provided the finishing touches. As a bonus, Amanda involves Cabinet Makers, Builders and Allied Trades People that produce work of the highest standard to tight time frames.
